What to Expect

Deep Tissue Massage involves firm, sustained pressure, and you may feel intensity in areas where tension is most concentrated. There is an important distinction between productive pressure and pain. The work should feel deep and purposeful, never sharp or unbearable. Your therapist will check in throughout the session and adjust based on your feedback. Communication is essential, as the right pressure for your body is the pressure that allows your muscles to release rather than guard.
Our Therapeutic Massage offers full-body relaxation with medium to firm pressure, focused on overall tension relief and a balanced sense of well-being. Deep Tissue Massage works at a deeper layer, using slower strokes and more sustained pressure to address chronic tension, adhesions, and holding patterns within the deeper muscle and fascia. This treatment is more therapeutic than relaxing, designed for guests whose tension has not responded to standard massage approaches.
Deep Tissue Massage is well suited for guests with chronic muscle tension, persistent knots, restricted range of motion, repetitive strain from work or activity, and those who simply prefer firmer pressure. It also benefits guests with old injuries that continue to affect movement or comfort. If you tend to find lighter massages unsatisfying or feel that surface work doesn't reach your tension, this may be the right treatment for you.
It is common to feel slightly sore for 24 to 48 hours after a Deep Tissue Massage, similar to the feeling after a meaningful workout. This soreness is part of the body's response to the deeper work and typically resolves on its own. We recommend drinking plenty of water afterward to support recovery, taking a warm bath if soreness arises, and gentle movement rather than rest. Most guests report feeling significantly looser and lighter once any temporary tenderness passes.
